The 2016 Alfa Romeo MiTo is making a return thanks to a couple of up-close photographs of an undisguised prototype.

It was only yesterday when we published a set of spy shots with Alfa Romeo's facelift for the MiTo and now the car has been spied naked without any sort of camouflage. Saying the changes are "minor" is perhaps exaggerated as so far we only notice a honeycomb pattern on the front grille which also appears to use more chrome and could be a little bit wider. The angle of the front shot is not the greatest as we don't get to see the rest of the fascia, but most likely the lower grille has also gone through a subtle revision.

As for the rear end, it seems the area around the license plate holder has a matte black look just like the lower half of the bumper while the fog and reverse lights now have an all-white look and flank a chrome strip. The trunk lid has also gained a chrome strip and we also see Alfa Romeo has applied its revised badge that debuted with the Giulia.

Since the facelift appears to be done, most likely it will go official before the end of this year.

Special thanks go to George for sending us the tip!
