According to Automotive News, Jeep is indeed working on a Wrangler-based pickup.  However, it hasn't been approved for production and its fate is reportedly hinged on FCA's decision on whether or not to expanded Wrangler production at the company's plant in Toledo, Ohio.

If the model is green-lighted, it could go into production as early as 2018.  It would be heavily based on the next-generation Wrangler but feature a short rear bed reminiscent of the 1980's Scrambler.
