Work continues on the seven-seat Lexus RX as our spies have snapped new photos of the upcoming crossover.

Designed to appeal to larger families, the model has a familiar design but features longer rear doors and an extended wheelbase. The additional length will enable the RX to have three-rows of seats so it can compete with seven-passenger crossovers such as the Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60.

Engine options will likely carryover, so expect choices to include a 3.5-liter V6 with 300 bhp (224 kW) as well as a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 that also develops approximately 300 bhp (224 kW).

The seven-seat Lexus RX is expected to be introduced next year and could go on sale as early as the fall of 2016.
