The 2016 BMW M235i Racing / Racing Cup has been spied up close during a VLN practice session on Friday.

Jointly being tested by the Scheid Motorsport team, the 2016 M235i racer has a familiar design but has been equipped with an adjustable carbon fiber rear wing.  There doesn't appear be any other changes but BMW has received some complaints about the car's handling so its possible that engineers have made some tweaks to the chassis and suspension.

Since the major components carryover, the model should be powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that develops 333 PS (245 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque.  It sends power to ground via a mechanical limited-slip rear differential.
