According to a recent report, Lexus is developing a hydrogen-powered LS sedan to be showcased at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Summer Games.

According to a recent report, Lexus is developing a hydrogen-powered LS sedan to be showcased at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Summer Games.

Details are limited but Best Car magazine is reporting the model will be introduced in 2018 and use a Toyota Mirai-sourced hydrogen fuel cell powertrain.

When asked for comment, a Toyota spokesperson declined to confirm the news but told Automotive News the 2020 Olympic games will be a "mental and philosophical milestone" for the company.  They went on to say Toyota plans to use fuel cell powertrains in models besides the Mirai.
