Audi and Porsche are reportedly developing a new family of turbocharged V6 and V8 engines.

According to Autocar, the engines are codenamed KoVoMo and will use a gas driven turbocharger but they could eventually be equipped with an electric turbocharger.  Little else is known about them but the V6 engine will reportedly displace 3.0-liters while the V8 will be a 4.0-liter unit.

The engines will also be scaleable as there are rumors that Audi could eventually introduce an entry-level V6 which displaces 2.5-liters and uses the Atkinson-cycle combustion process.

If everything pans out, the V6 and V8 engines will be used in a variety of models including those from Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche and Volkswagen.
