Subaru UK has announced the Levorg sport tourer will be available on order next month from £27,495.

Set to be sold exclusively in GT trim, the Levorg is packed with plenty of standard kit including Subaru's proprietary all-wheel drive system receiving power from a new 1.6-liter DIT gasoline engine that generates 170 PS (125 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque sent to a "super-smooth" continuously variable transmission (CVT). It sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in a decent 8.9 seconds and can return almost 40 mpg UK (33.3 mpg US or 7 liters / 100 km) in the combined cycle, with corresponding CO2 emissions of 164 g/km.

It should be a very practical sport tourer as the trunk has a 522-liter capacity which can be expanded to 1,446 liters once you fold down the rear seats. All cars get automatic LED headlights, 18-inch dark grey alloys, rain-sensing wipers and privacy glass while a roof spoiler and keyless access (with push button start) is also part of the package. For the same money you will also be getting a rearview camera, dual zone AC and a 7-inch touchscreen display as well as four USB ports and two 12-volt power outlets.

The driver and front passenger inside Subaru's "most-refined interior yet" will be able to enjoy leather-wrapped heated sport seats while a high level of safety is ensured by a five-star Euro NCAP rating thanks to front, side, curtain and driver knee airbags, whiplash-reducing front seats and high-beam assist. It also boasts an active torque vectoring system that brakes the inside wheel during cornering and applies more torque to the outer wheels as a move to lower understeer and oversteer.
