Toyota's UK division is introducing new Active and Sport versions of the Yaris Hybrid.
Serving as the entry-level version, the Yaris Hybrid Active costs £14,995 (including £300 introductory customer saving) and comes fitted as standard with a trip computer, dual-zone climate control system, split-folding rear seats and electric front windows. Go for the more expensive Yaris Hybrid Sport from £16,695 and you also get a rear privacy glass, bigger 16-inch rims, rear spoiler, climate control, rear electric windows, rearview camera and the Toyota Touch 2 infotainment system with DAB radio and Bluetooth. For an extra £550, the Sport trim can be configured with the optional panoramic roof.
The cars share the same 1.5-liter VVT-i gasoline engine working together with an electric motor to provide a combined output of 100 PS (73 kW) channeled to the wheels through a continuously variable transmission. This hardware setup grants a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 11.8 seconds and a 103 mph (166 km/h) top speed. More importantly, the Yaris Hybrid Active returns 85.6 mpg UK (71.2 mpg US or 3.3 liters / 100 km) with 75 g/km CO2 emissions whereas the Yaris Hybrid Sport due to its larger wheels is a bit more thirsty and will do 78.5 mpg UK (65.3 mpg US or 3.6 liters / 100 km) with corresponding CO2 emissions of 82 g/km.
Both the Toyota Yaris Hybrid Active and Yaris Hybrid Sport are now available across UK dealerships.
