The limited-run Audi R8 GT had an unfortunate tête-à-tête with a fifth-gen Volkswagen Golf GTI.

Back in August last year, we saw an R8 GT Coupe running a red light and hitting a Range Rover Evoque in an intersection in Johannesburg, South Africa. Coincidentally, another R8 GT also from Johannesburg has now rear-ended a Volkswagen Golf V GTI, but thankfully the outcome of the impact was significantly less severe.

This R8 GT is one of the 333 units ever made and as you can see the owner decided to apply some red accents to make it stand out even more. The damage doesn't look very extensive, but with a car like this, the repair bill will likely be huge. As for the compact hot hatch, this will only need a rear bumper replacement as the rest of the car appears to be intact.

We remind you Audi also built 333 units of the R8 GT Spyder and one of the cars was stolen in November last year from high-end car dealer Pegasus in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
