According to a recent report, Holden is preparing a significant facelift for the 2016 Caprice.

Details are limited but CarAdvice is reporting the model will be introduced in September and feature more styling tweaks than the facelifted Commodore.

Under the hood, the 6.0-liter V8 engine will reportedly be replaced by a new 6.2-liter unit that develops 407 bhp (304 kW) - an increase of 59 bhp (44 kW).  The engine is slated to have cylinder deactivation technology and will be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.  However, the LPG option will reportedly be dropped as a cost saving measure.
