A unique Nissan Maxima converted into a convertible failed to sell on eBay recently.

It started life as a fully loaded 2004 Nissan Maxima but it was converted into a convertible and gained suicide doors. The vehicle appears to be in good condition and has been driven for just 17,428 miles (28,047 km). It wears a polished pewter metallic paint and comes with a plethora of goodies including heated front & rear seats wrapped in leather, along with cruise control, power windows and front seats as well as what the seller describes as being a "very rare Nissan OEM center console unit" with navigation.

Compared to a regular 2004MY Maxima, this four-seater cabrio has been lowered by 2 inches (5 cm) and has received some mechanical upgrades such as drilled brake rotors, custom stainless steel exhaust and Infiniti-sourced wheels. Power comes from the same six-cylinder 3.5-liter engine developing 265 bhp and 255 lb-ft.

More importantly, the seller mentions there's a one-inch crossed pattern metal tubing welded reinforcing unit from firewall ending behind the rear seats for increased rigidity.

Overall, it seems to be a pretty decent conversion, but the one-off Maxima failed to sell on eBay as the reserve was not met, even though there no less than 30 bids, with the highest one being $10,100.
