Hyundai Motor America CEO Dave Zuchowski has announced the company is working on a new compact crossover.

Speaking to Edmunds, Zuchowski confirmed the U.S. won't be getting the recently introduced Creta because its styling is too conservative.  As he explained, "It is a good youth vehicle and we think in order to tap [into] that market, the thing should be styled less conservatively and more aggressively."

Zuchowski declined to say when the model will be introduced but he hinted it could be based on the front-wheel-drive platform that underpins the Veloster.
