The first 2016 Mazda MX-5 Launch Edition in the United States has been auctioned off for $50,000.

The car was sold online on July 11th and one hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which treats children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

As a refresher, the MX-5 Launch Edition features a Soul Red exterior with adaptive LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels.  The car also has heated leather seats, an automatic climate control system, a Bose audio system and a MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system.

Power is provided by a 2.0-liter SKYACTIV engine that produces 155 bhp (115 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque.  It can be paired to either a six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
