The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet has been photographed undergoing hot weather testing in Dubai.

The sporty convertible based on the C-Class is inching closer to production as the German producer is still testing it in different parts of the world. This time a heavily camouflaged prototype of the machine was spotted in a parking lot in Dubai by a reader of our friends at IndianAutosBlog.

It is still believed Mercedes-Benz will reveal the new convertible at the Frankfurt Motor Show along with the S-Class Cabriolet, but recently the company teased the C-Class Coupe, which puts some uncertainty on the Convertible’s debut.

The spiritual successor of the CLK is expected to feature a multi-layered soft top and a familiar body shape. The car is rumored to get a starting price below the SLK (set to become SLC), offering a rich engine lineup including diesel and petrol engines carried over from the C-Class Sedan and Estate, all the way up to the range-topping V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo with 476 PS (350 kW).
