Work continues on the Mercedes S63 AMG Cabrio as another lightly camouflaged prototype has been spied in Germany.

Managing to look elegant and aggressive, the high-performance drop top echoes the S63 AMG Coupe but features a revised rear end that accommodates a retractable soft stop.  Additional changes are limited but we can expect the useful cabrio modifications including revised switchgear and Airscarf seats.

Power will be provided by a familiar twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that develops 577 bhp (430 kW) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. It enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) so expect the convertible to offer similar performance.
