Nissan has introduced a new entry-level X-Trail in the United Kingdom.

Currently available to order, the X-Trail DIG-T 163 features a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 163 PS (120 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque.  It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which sends power exclusively to the front wheels.

In terms of performance, the crossover can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 9.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 124 mph (199 km/h).  The model also has a standard start/stop system which enables it to return up to 45.6 mpg UK (37.9 mpg US / 6.1 L/100km) with CO2 emissions as low as 145 g/km.

The X-Trail DIG-T 163 starts at £21,995 which represents a £1,460 savings over the dCi 130 variant.
