We have received a new batch of spy shots with the imminent facelift for the Mercedes-Benz SL.

Many people are saying the current SL (R231) is not as appealing as its predecessors, but Mercedes-Benz is trying to improve the roadster's looks by implementing some subtle tweaks for the model's midlife revision. It will gain new graphics for both headlight and taillight clusters, along with an "upside down" front grille and some mild changes to the bumpers.

As far as model lineup modifications, Mercedes-Benz has already introduced the SL400 with a twin-turbo V6 3.0-liter pushing out 329 bhp (245 kW) and 354 lb-ft (479 Nm) and they could decide to bridge the gap between the SL500 & SL550 and the fully-fledged AMG models by launching a warm AMG Sport variant.

Deliveries are expected to begin March next year which means Mercedes-Benz will introduce the facelifted SL before the end of this year and some reports are indicating customers will be able to order the car as early as December.
