Toyota has introduced the new Pixis Mega in Japan.

Essentially a box on wheels, the Pixis Mega features a nearly vertical front fascia with a slender grille that is flanked by sweptback headlights.  Moving further back, we can see sculpted fenders, one-touch electric sliding rear doors and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.  The model also has aerodynamic fins on the mirrors and taillights that promise to improve high speed stability.

The four-seat interior is pretty basic but comes equipped with water-repellent upholstery, a six-speaker audio system and plenty of storage compartments.  Customers can also order an optional navigation system.

Under the hood, two engines are available.  The naturally-aspirated 660cc engine produces 52 PS (38 kW) and 60 Nm (44 lb-ft) of torque, while the turbocharged 660cc engine develops 64 PS (47 kW) and 92 Nm (67 lb-bft) of torque. Both are connected to a continuously variable transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system on turbocharged variants.

The Toyota Pixis Mega is currently on sale and pricing starts at ¥1,350,000.
