The Lada Vesta sedan and XRAY crossover have been caught on camera undergoing hot weather testing in southern Spain.
First up, the Priora-replacing Vesta has already been spotted in pre-production guise earlier this year so we know pretty much what's hiding underneath that full body camouflage. It's a really nice design effort if we compare the new sedan with other AvtoVAZ products as the production car will remain faithful to the promising 2014 concept.
Series production is programmed to kick off on September 25 so the Vesta will go on sale this fall with a four-cylinder 1.6-liter normally aspirated engine that should be offered with 87, 106 and 114 bhp, although final specifications have not been provided just yet.
As far as the XRAY, it will be an evolution of two previous concepts from 2012 and 2014 which have been described as being hatchback-styled SUVs. We know it rides on the same B0 platform as the Dacia Sandero Stepway whereas the Vesta will be underpinned by Lada's own modified C platform. It should be launched shortly after the Vesta so expect the petite crossover to hit the market by early 2016.
