Jaguar has revealed a prototype of the F-Pace which will be performing duties as a support vehicle for Team Sky at Tour de France.

This will happen on Saturday when the F-Pace prototype will support Team Sky rider Chris Froome during stage 1 of the 2015 Tour de France at the individual time trial that will start from Utrecht, The Netherlands and will head south towards Belgium over a twisting route of 13.7 km (8.5 miles).

The car's exact role will be to carry the Team Sky Sports Director, doctor, mechanic and another senior team member as well as the team's equipment: spares for the bike, energy gels, drinks and tools. Interestingly, Jaguar says the F-Pace will have the biggest trunk in its class while the interior cabin is described as being "wide and spacious."

The F-Pace prototype is going to feature a specially designed quick-release bike racking solution developed by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) that boasts a telescopic clamp to ease access and save precious time when accessing the spare bikes. Jaguar was in charge of creating a special soft wrap inspired by road racing bikes and the Tour de France.

A full debut of the Jaguar F-Pace will occur in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with sales to commence early 2016.
