The highly-anticipated 2017 BMW M5 has been caught during a short test at the Nürburgring.

Dressed in swirly camouflage, the sedan has a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system and a new front bumper with mesh grille inserts.  The model also has lightweight alloy wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking system.

Additional details are hard to see but the M5 is expected to weigh about 100 kg (220 lbs) less than its predecessor.  The model is also rumored to use an upgraded twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces up to 626 PS (460 kW).  More interestingly, it appears an all-wheel drive system could be offered on the model for the first time.
