The xB used to be the heart and soul of Scion but it's finally going away as executives have confirmed the model will be dropped.
Speaking to Wards Auto, Scion Vice President Doug Murtha confirmed “The xB will be leaving the lineup at the end of the year." Murtha declined to elaborate but sales of the second-generation xB have failed to live up to its predecessor. As the publication points out, Kia managed to sell 145,316 Souls in the United States last year while Scion only sold 16,583 xBs.
Regardless, Murtha expects the 2016 iM hatchback will help to fill the void left by the xB although he doesn't see as a direct replacement for the model.
