The new Mitsubishi Lancer has been virtually envisioned by design student Enoch Gonzales.

This project shows a slightly bigger and more aggressive Lancer than the current one, featuring the Japanese company’s “dynamic shield” front fascia with many chrome details. Also, gone is the large radiator grille.

We were just about to lose our faith we are going to see a successor of the Lancer anytime soon but earlier this month Mitsubishi Motors North America executive vice president Don Swearingen confirmed the company is already working on the vehicle. Don’t get too excited as the new Lancer is still 18 to 24 months away even if everything goes on plan.

Swearingen explained that “We’re running parallel because we cannot wait any longer to see if a partnership will work out. If it falls through then we’re another year behind.”
