According to a recent report, BMW will introduce the X4 M40i at the North American International Auto Show early next year.

Citing company insiders, Autocar is reporting the model will have a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that develops around 350 bhp (261 kW).  It will reportedly be connected to an upgraded eight-speed automatic transmission and a torque vectoring all-wheel drive system.

The magazine goes on to say the crossover will weigh approximately 1820kg (4012 lbs) which should enable it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in five seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Little else is known about the model but previous spy photos have shown we can expect sportier bumpers and dual exhaust system - among other things.
