Mercedes just took the wraps off the 2016 GLC and it appears a number of high-performance variants will soon be added to the lineup.

Speaking to Car Advice, Meredes' Matthias Lührs reportedly confirmed plans for both a GLC 450 AMG Sport and a GLC63 AMG.  The executive went on to say the latter variant will be launched “next year” and use the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine as the C63 AMG.  There's no word on whether or not there will be an S variant but the GLC63 AMG should have 476 PS (350 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.

The GLC 450 AMG Sport will be less extreme and likely use a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that develops 367 PS (270 kW) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque.
