Peugeot has started the teasing game for the upcoming 308 GTi set to debut later this month.

The attached teaser clip can be considered a bit futile taking into account a near-production prototype was spotted recently without any sort of camouflage so there is very little we don't know in terms of design. The French GTi is expected to offer a mighty 270 bhp (201 kW) punch from a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine sourced from the RCZ R.

If we were to believe recent gossip, the motor will work with a six-speed manual gearbox and a Torsen limited-slip differential. It's also getting some bi-color 19-inch alloy wheels shod in Michelin tires, along with red brake calipers, dual exhaust setup, honeycomb mesh front grille as well as some interior cabin enhancements such as body-hugging seats, special upholstery and other minor tweaks.

The Peugeot 308 GTi will receive its world premiere on June 25 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
