A fully disguised prototype of the next generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet has been caught on camera testing on public roads.

Rumored to be cheaper than the SLC (SLK facelift), Mercedes-Benz's upcoming open-top C-Class can be seen here in the sportier AMG Line specification featuring larger alloy wheels and beefier front air intakes. It will allegedly be offered with four roof color choices and the usual AIRSCARF (neck-level heating) and AIRCAP (air deflector) systems while the roof will be operable at speeds of up to 60 km/h (37 mph).

Codenamed A205, the all-new C-Class Cabriolet will be based on the upcoming C-Class Coupe  (C205) and is expected to hit dealerships as soon as the beginning of next year. It will be offered with the same array of engines and gearboxes as its fixed metal roof sibling, all the way up to a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter in the Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet which will have 476 PS & 650 Nm and 510 PS & 700 Nm in S specification.

As far as the interior cabin is concerned, it will obviously be sourced from the other C-Class models, but with different power tilt & slide seats as well as additional buttons necessary to control the multi-layered fabric roof.
