A senior BMW executive has declared MINI is still analyzing the prospects of coming out with a production version of the 2014 Superleggera concept.

It seems MINI hasn't made up its mind about putting the highly appraised roadster into production because they don't know for sure where the model represents a viable business case. Peter Schwarzenbauer who is in charge of the MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW Motorrad divisions describes the Superleggera as being an "economically challenging project."

He does hope the concept will eventually see the light of production day as he believes it "would be extremely good for the brand." If it will be made, the model will carry a starting price of approximately €35,000, according to a MINI insider.

When asked about the possibility of an UK exit from the European Union, Schwarzenbauer said it would be bad for both side, but BMW will continue its operations in United Kingdom even if a "Brexit" will actually happen.
