Opel has introduced a new 2.0-liter CDTI diesel engine for the Cascada convertible.
The same unit was recently introduced for the Insignia and Zafira Tourer models and has a maximum output of 170 PS (125 kW) against, while the pique torque is rated at 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). Compared to its predecessor, the new powerplant (165 PS/121 kW) boasts three percent more power and 14 percent more torque.
Opel claims, when equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, the Euro 6 Cascada 2.0 CDTI consumes an average 4.9 liters per 100 km in combined cycle and emits 129 g/km CO2, which is an improvement of six percent. 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration takes 10.3 seconds and top speed stands at 218 km/h (135 mph).
Prices for the Cascada with the new diesel start at 30,500 EUR (34,400 USD) including VAT in Germany.
