Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations division has announced plans to roll out warm SV-badged models.

The newly established SVO is cooking up higher performance derivatives of various Jaguar and Land Rover models which will be positioned right below the fully-fledged SVR models. The philosophy of these cars will be similar to the AMG Sport models from Mercedes-Benz or the M Performance-labeled cars from BMW.

These new vehicles will wear the SV suffix and are going to target customers who can't afford the full SVO package and are willing to settle with the next best thing. Just like the German rivals are doing, JLR's SV-badged models will come with an array of cosmetic and mechanical tweaks to bridge the gap between the standard model and the flagship derivative.
