Fiat has confirmed the refreshed 500 will receive its world premiere on July 4.
Photographed testing a couple of times, the retro-styled model will likely retain most of its design with the only expected chances being the restyled bumpers and slightly redesigned lights. The Italian company says no further information can be released at the moment but all the details will become available on July 4.
Interior changes will be only minor as well, like the revised air vents, additional colored trim and a new infotainment system.
Fiat explains July 4 is a very important date for the manufacturer because on July 4 1957 the brand was launched to the Italian public. The classic 500 model saw the use of a full-length canvas roof on early models and a rear-mounted, air-cooled, two-cylinder 479cc engine with just 13 PS (10 kW). With a total weight of 470 kg, the original 500 was capable of just over 80 km/h (50 mph).
