Australian specialty marque Quantum Performance Vehicle has introduced the GP700 track-focused car.

The GP700 looks like the ultimate track toy and has the magical 1:1 power to weight ratio as it packs a mighty 700 bhp (522 kW) punch in a 700 kg (1,543 lbs) body. All that power is obtained from a four-cylinder 2.7-liter engine which benefits from a twin-supercharger setup that helps generate a maximum torque of 654 Nm (483 lb-ft) at 6,500 rpm.

The engine's output is sent to the wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox that enables the Quantum GP700 hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds and 100 mph (160 km/h) in 5 seconds before topping out at 198 mph (319 km/h).

Set to be offered globally as a road-legal model, the Quantum GP700 is scheduled to enter limited production and will carry an estimated starting price of less than $700,000, thus making it a lot more expensive than the Ariel Atom and KTM X-BOW.
