A revealing image of the facelifted Kia cee'd compact hatchback has emerged.
Kia's mid-cycle refresh for the cee'd is subtle at best as the revisions were kept down to a minimum. It appears to have a slightly modified front bumper with different gills and smaller fog lights with a more subtle chrome surround compared to the current model. Due to the low resolution of the photo, we don't know for sure whether those headlights have darker graphics, but the rest of the car seems to be identical.
This appears to be a high specification version painted in Infra Red and equipped with the optional sunroof. The wheels are likely borrowed from the cee'd GT Line and chances are the rear end hosts some minor tweaks to the bumper and taillight graphics. Some interior cabin revisions like new upholstery options and fresh trims should round off the package.
The aforementioned cee'd GT Line introduced a 3-cylinder 1.0-liter turbo with 120 PS (88 kW) and 172 Nm (127 lb-ft) which will likely be offered across the entire cee'd facelift range. The 1.6-liter CRDi was updated to 133 PS (98 kW) and 285 Nm (210 lb-ft) and will be available with a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission. Chances are Kia will also replace the outdated 1.6-liter naturally aspirated motor with a brand new 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
We will know for sure in August when the cee'd facelift should be revealed, prior to a public debut a month later at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
