A new report indicates Jaguar is cooking up a larger SUV called J-Pace set to come out in 2019.

Almost a month ago we heard Automobile Magazine talking about a big Jaguar SUV with the "J-Pace" moniker slated to go on sale before the end of the decade. A couple of weeks later, Jaguar denied such plans by describing the report as being "pure speculation." Now, CAR says the J-Pace will become a reality in 2019 and will be based on the Range Rover facelift.

Sitting above the yet unreleased F-Pace, the model is envisioned as an SUV version of the next generation XJ and will allegedly be offered in two wheelbase configurations. Power will come from an array of V6 and V8 engines while a plug-in hybrid version is also possible. The report goes on to specify Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations could also be working on a range-topping SVR version.

Before the J-Pace, Jaguar will take the wraps off the F-Pace in September this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The company's first ever crossover could be joined in the next few years by a smaller model, but a final decision is pending.

New report says J-Pace is set for 2019 release, despite Jaguar's denial
