British media is reporting the next generation Land Rover Discovery will receive a more off-road focused SVX derivative.
At the beginning of the month we heard Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations Managing Director John Edwards announcing plans to launch more off-road oriented versions and it seems the first model to benefit from this treatment is going to be the next-gen Discovery. The regular version is due sometime next year while the SVX model is expected to hit dealerships 12-18 months later.
It's not known at this point what will SVO do to the all-new Discovery but whatever the enhancements will be, these will make the vehicle an even more capable off-roader. Edwards previously said there is an important demand for hardcore 4x4s and obviously JLR wants a piece of the action with these SVX-badged versions.
