National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) recently exited reorganization and that has apparently paved the way for the company to establish a new factory in Tianjin, China.

Thanks to two new Chinese "part owners" - Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech industrial Development Area (THT) and Beijing State Research Information Technology Co., Ltd (SRIT) - NEVS will establish a joint-venture production plant in China that is focused on creating electric vehicles.

The company was coy on specifics but confirmed the first car will be an "electric vehicle based on NEVS technology."  It will eventually be followed by a "diversified EV and [a] portfolio of battery electric vehicles and EVs based on NEVS new[ly] developed vehicle architecture."

In a statement, NEVS President Mattias Bergman said “Nevs’ focus is to produce high quality electric vehicles with China as its initial main market. The long-term cooperation with the development area THT in Tianjin and the IT pioneer SRIT will help us achieve our vision and our goal of a global strategic presence and is an important addition to the resources we have in Trollhättan."
