Lamborghini has downplayed the possibility offering a production version of the Asterion concept but that hasn't stopped the company from showcasing the model at last weekend's Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
Originally unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the Asterion is a stylish plug-in hybrid which features a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that develops 610 PS (449 kW). It is backed up by backed by three electric motors and an all-wheel drive system. Thanks to this setup, the car produces a combined maximum output of 910 PS (669 kW). This enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in three seconds before hitting a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).
In terms of efficiency, the concept returns 4.1 L/100km (57.3 mpg US / 68.8 mpg UK) and can travel up to 50 km (31 miles) on electricity alone at speeds up to 125 km/h (78 mph).
