The fourth generation of the Toyota Prius has been recently caught on camera undergoing tests.

Savior1974, member of the PriusChat forum, explains he spotted the hybrid machine while travelling from Las Vegas to California. “As we are leaving we see a car dressed as it were being road tested. Upon further inspection it looks like it might be a Prius. I took a quick video as I drove by but it's not the best quality.”

The low-quality video indeed shows a heavily camouflaged machine on a gas station. We can’t say for sure if this is the next generation of the hybrid vehicle, but the lines of this prototype look like a Prius.

Originally scheduled to enter production in spring of 2015, the model will likely be introduced in the end of the year due to an unexpected redesign. Toyota's global research and development chief Mitsuhisa Kato was not satisfied with the work of chief engineer Koji Toyoshima and the car was sent back to the drawing board.
