David Brown Automotive has announced plans to offer their Speedback GT in the United States.

Set to celebrate its North American debut at The Quail Motorsports Gathering in August, the US-spec model will closely echo the European variant which was introduced last year.  As a result, it will be based on the Jaguar XKR and feature a retro-inspired exterior that mimics the Aston Martin DB5.

While the exterior styling is unique, the cabin largely carries over and comes nicely equipped with premium leather upholstery, wood trim and metallic switchgear.

Power is provided by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 510 bhp (380 kW) and 461 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque.  It enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds before hitting a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Unfortunately, the car won't be cheap as pricing starts at £495,000 ($778,758).
