Audi has announced plans to unveil their new 2.0-liter TFSI engine at the Vienna Motor Symposium on May 7th.

The company is keeping details under wraps but promised the petrol engine will use an "innovative combustion principle that makes it especially efficient in real-life operating conditions."  The automaker went on to say the engine will be the "most efficient two-liter gasoline engine in its class."

According to Audi powertrain development boss Stefan Knirsch, “We have been presenting our new drive technologies here regularly since 2009. One highlight was the four-cylinder TFSI with gasoline direct injection and turbocharging, which went on to become a successful engine worldwide following its introduction in 2007. The innovations that we are now showcasing in Vienna will add to this success story.”
