Opel has officially confirmed the next generation Astra will make its world premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show

Opel has officially confirmed the next generation Astra will make its world premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The German brand has released pictures of “fully camouflaged engineering development prototypes”. Opel Group CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann explains the new model will feature “an awesome design, highest efficiency and an abundance of innovations”.

Opel also says the new Astra has been created from “a white sheet of paper”, resulting in “a revolutionary car that is much more efficient in all respects”. While the exterior dimensions of the vehicle have been reduced, the interior space will be increased substantially. The new Astra will also be “dramatically” lighter and will be powered only by “state-of-the-art engines of the new generation”.
