Hyundai UK has disclosed pricing details for the ix35 Fuel Cell which is already available on order from £53,105.

Billed as being "world's first mass produced fuel cell electric vehicle", the ix35 has reached UK market from £53,105 OTR with part-funding from the HyFive project which allows buyers to save almost £15,000 as the full price tag stands at £67,985.

It comes with two hydrogen tanks that have a total capacity of 5.64 kg which will be enough to provide the vehicle with a maximum range of 369 miles (594 km) while the on-board 24 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery was developed in collaboration with LG. Power comes from a 136 PS (100 kW) electric motor which grants the ix35 with a top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h) and Hyundai says the vehicle won't have any problems starting at -25 degrees Celsius.

As a final note, we remind you Hyundai established a new world record last year for the longest distance covered on a single tank of hydrogen by travelling 435 miles (700 km).
