New details are starting to emerge about the Jaguar J-Pace.

Designed to slot above the F-Pace, the J-Pace will be a large crossover that will compete with the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS.

While nothing is official, Automobile Magazine is reporting the model likely be based on the Range Rover and be introduced in 2019.  Despite sharing its platform with the iconic off-roader, the J-Pace will feature unique styling inside and out.  We can also expect short and long-wheelbase variants just like on the Range Rover.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but the publication says we can expect a variety of V6 and V8 powertrains as well as a plug-in hybrid variant.  There should also be a couple of high-performance models which will wear the RS and SVR monikers.
