Theophilus Chin has decided to bring back to life the Volkswagen Corrado based on a couple of modern concepts.

Launched back in 1988, the Corrado was a 2+2 coupe with a FWD front-engine layout and it was based on the second generation Golf. Many probably remember this model due to its VR6 engine, but that didn't help the Corrado last a lot of time on the market as it was discontinued in mid-1995.

A direct successor arrived 13 years later when Volkswagen introduced the third generation Scirocco which is still on sale today, albeit with a facelift implemented last year.

Now, Theophilus Chin decided to combine the 2013 Audi Sport Quattro Concept and the more recent 2015 Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE to create a modern Corrado, but as long as the Scirocco will be available, there's no place for another similar model in VW's lineup.

On a related note, a new Scirocco is expected for 2017 as a "fully-fledged sports coupe" with four seats, big tailgate and a spacious trunk.
