Audi has unveiled a new aerodynamics kit for the R18 e-tron quattro.

Set to be used at the 6 Hours of Spa, the low downforce package has a different front fairing, modified sidepods, relocated vents and a new rear wing support.

According to Audi Sport's Head of Aerodynamics, Jan Monchaux, “Because downforce at Le Mans is not as important as it is at other tracks, we developed other solutions and new body shapes."  He went on to say "All the turning vanes, wings and similar elements are no longer mounted so steeply in the airflow" so they help to reduce drag.

As a refresher, the 2015 R18 e-tron quattro was unveiled earlier this year with an optimized chassis, an upgraded electric motor and more efficient diesel engine.
