The 2016 Toyota Hilux has returned in a new set of revealing images showing all the details of the restyled compact pickup truck.

The front fascia shows a set of headlights similar to those on the 2016 Tacoma while the chrome grille has been expanded into the lighting clusters which boast LED daytime running lights. Also noticeable are the more prominent fenders, fresh alloy wheels, chrome door handles and mirror caps while the rear doors appear to be slightly longer which could indicate a roomier cabin for those sitting in the back.

Speaking of which, the 2016 Hilux's interior now hosts a tablet-like touchscreen display that seems to stand out as it doesn't appear to be fully integrated in the center console.

In terms of engines, expect a new 2.4-liter turbodiesel with 150 PS (111 kW) and 167 PS (123 kW), along with a beefier 2.8-liter turbodiesel rated at 177 PS (130 kW). Depending on engine selection, these will likely be teamed up with manual and automatic gearboxes.
