Ford has announced the Shelby GT350 will be limited to 100 units for the 2015MY while the GT350R is going to be capped at 37 cars.

Introduced back in November 2014 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Shelby GT350 is a more potent version of the pony car with a naturally aspirated V8 5.2-liter engine which according to Shelby/Boss brand manager Jim Owens will have more than 100 bhp (75 kW) per liter so the total power will stand at more than 520 bhp (388 kW) while the engine has a redline of 8,250 rpm.

He went on to specify the model is programmed to go on sale in the fourth quarter of the year and now we have learned only 100 cars will be made. Half of them will come equipped with the Technology Package while the other half are going to have the Track Package.

As for the Shelby GT350R, this one saw the light of day in January at NAIAS and is described by the Blue Oval company as being "the most track-ready road-going production Mustang ever built." It comes with an aerodynamic body kit and is motivated by a V8 5.2 with more than 500 bhp (373 kW) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm).

Only 37 cars are allocated for the 2015MY which will be available "later this year" and all will have a limited-slip differential, a six-speed manual gearbox and 19-inch carbon fiber wheels. All these upgrades allow the GT350R to lap the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 32.19 seconds according to a recent report.
