New details are starting to emerge about the 2017 Audi A6.
Set to battle the redesigned BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class, the 2017 A6 will reportedly feature a high-tech interior and a semi-autonomous driving system which will enable the model to drive itself at speeds up to 60 km/h (37 mph). The car is also slated to feature a new air suspension which uses a camera to scan the road for imperfections so it can adjust accordingly.
Performance specifications remain shrouded in secrecy but Autobild is reporting the model will be offered with an assortment of engines including upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinders and a 4.0-liter V8 TDI that develops more than 400 PS (294 kW). There could also be a plug-in hybrid variant that uses a 2.0-liter TSFI petrol engine and a 122 PS (90 kW) electric motor.
The next-generation A6 sedan will reportedly go on sale in July of 2017 with Avant and Allroad variants following approximately nine months later.
