Nissan has released a new video which highlights the testing of the new GT-R LM NISMO.
While the car will miss out on a few races, team principal and technical director Ben Bowley says he's not too worried as the GT-R LM NISMO was designed specifically for Le Mans. The delay also gives the team additional time to test the model which Bowley says is "absolutely critical for this car, mostly because we haven't actually all done this conceptive layout before."
Interestingly, the clip also reveals that the front roll hoop failed "pretty catastrophically" when undergoing a simulated crash test. The company says this was a learning experience as they now know much more about the structure. As Head of Composites, Simon Marshall explained "In all engineering, it's the failures that teach you the most."
