Nissan has unveiled the Murano Hybrid at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Designed to "strengthen Nissan's pioneering efforts to bring more sustainable mobility options to China," the Murano Hybrid has a supercharged 2.5-liter petrol engine, an electric motor and a compact lithium-ion battery.  Detailed performance specifications were not released but the powertrain sounds identical to the one in the Pathfinder Hybrid which produces a combined maximum output of 250 bhp (186 kW) and 243 lb-ft (329 Nm) of torque.

Regardless of the final numbers, Nissan says the Murano Hybrid has "excellent acceleration" and will offer fuel efficiency similar to models equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

The Murano Hybrid will go on sale in China this summer but there's no word on global availability.
